How to apply
The application or admission procedure for the Master's Programme in Political Science with a Specialisation on German and European Studies is organized centrally via the annual admission procedure for all MA programmes at the NaUKMA (see weblinks below).
Every applicant initially applies for the general Master programme «Political Science». In a written entrance exam (end of July each year) you will have to answer a set of questions related to the political systems and foreign policies of Germany and the European Union. Directly afterwards you will be invited for an interview in which we will evaluate your German language competencies (at least B1, normally B2 required).
Please be aware that potential applicants without a bachelor degree in political science are required to pass an additional entrance exam already in May (before the formal application). For this test you have to register well before, latest in May. Also in May you have to register for an English language exam. You find all info on the regulations and deadlines via the weblinks below.
Depending on your test results and the number of available study and budget places you will then be admitted to our programme at the NaUKMA. Please note that this does not mean automatic admission for the semester at FSU Jena (beginning of 2nd study year). Scholarships for the semester at FSU Jena are granted on a competative basis (based on your exam results during the 1st year) and admission requires the succesful passing of the TestDaF exam (4/4/4/4).
Before regularly applying via the official Naukma procedure, please send an email with the subject line "German Studies 2019" and your CV to email@example.com until 25 May 2019.
