We are happy to announce that the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) decided to prolong funding for our DES project for the period 2019-2020. That gives all project partners the necessary impulse and stability to implement the ambitious reform of our joint MA programme and to develop cooperation in additional fields.
For the beginning of the new academic year the DES project welcomes two additions to its staff. Toni Michel, the new programme tutor, holds an MA in "Politics and Economics in Eurasia" from MGIMO Moscow and a BA in "European Studies" from the University of Passau. Max Firgau, the new language assistant, was trained in German and English philology at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg.
In the autumn trimester (October to December 2018) the DES project will again organize a weekly Lecture Series. The Lecture Series hosts English language presentations of practicioners and academics focusing on European domestic and international affairs. Notable speakers will include Marcus Brand (UNDP Ukraine), Alexander Vinnikov (NATO Representation Head, Kyiv), and Wolfgang Bindseil (German Embassy Kyiv). The Lecture Series takes place every Thursday, 4:30 pm in room 316 of NaUKMA's 4th corpus.
