DES Christmas Events 2019

Our 6th alumni meeting: what a beautiful tradition!

On December 9, 2019, our new program coordinator, Nicolas Heger, invited to the 6th alumni meeting. By tradition, our alumni meeting takes place on the premises of the Permanent Representative of the German Embassy in Kiev. This year Dr. Bertram von Moltke in his residence. In addition to the current students of the master's program in Germany and Europe, the invited participants included alumni, friends, teachers and lecturers, including Dr. André Härtel, who had already announced that his time at the Mohyla Academy would end for him in summer 2020. But it is certainly not the last alumni celebration that he would come to. On the alumni side, Iryna Sheremeta and Volodymyr Kildii reported on the experience and added value of this double diploma master and how the degree is useful to the two alumni in their current work with organizations in German foreign policy.
At this year's meeting, alumni and students were able to exchange views and work together in a cozy atmosphere. The highlight (in addition to the great buffet!) Were the confident and confident speeches of two former students who, after completing their masters, were able to gain a foothold in two German political foundations in Kiev.

Christmas is coming...

This year's Mohyla Christmas party, to which all students from the German courses from Bachelor and Master were invited, took place in a cosy atmosphere on December 20 in the premises of the Mohyla Academy.
In the case of studs, Ukrainian and German Christmas carols, we painted gingerbread jewellery for the Christmas tree, played Uno and solved questions about Christmas customs in Germany. Vocal performance was also a must, of course, and so Maria Shubschyk, German teacher for the bachelor students, started out with "Kling, Glöckchen, klingelingeling" ... a pretty tongue twister.
At the end, scrap was weighted. However, our Ukrainian students had not yet fully understood the principle of scrap-elves. Instead, there were nice little things for everyone from Santas jute sack. Good as well :)
