General Info
The support of young Ukrainian doctoral candidates and post-docs is a central component of our program. We are able to grant two to three individual scholarships each year for a research stay (one or two months) at the Political Science Department of FSU Jena. Usually the scholarship holders do present their research projects in a Doctoral Seminar, work with a German supervisor on the development of their thesis and prepare a course syllabus for future teaching experience at the Mohyla Academy. The scholarship covers travel costs, housing and includes a lump-sum for further expenses. The scholarship is open to all Ukrainian doctoral candidates and post-docs in the social sciences. Scholarships are granted on the basis of an excellent research exposé in English or German, good oral command of one of these languages, and a prior presentation in our Research Colloquium. Please contact us if you are interested!
Train the Trainers
We expect our scholarship holders to involve themselves in the activities of our Center. They should regularly attend our Research Colloquium, Conferences, and the Lecture Series and thereby use all means for knowledge transfer, self-development and networking. Scholarship holders are also trained by us to later join the faculties of the Mohyla Academy or other Ukrainian universities, providing there high-quality teaching and conducting excellent research. For this purpose we encourage doctoral candidates to teach in our Master program and connect their individual projects to the research priorities of the Center.
